From the news today. Jim McGreevy (former Governor of New Jersey, always referred to in the media as “gay governor”) and his ex continue their divorce battle. Why this makes the news is beyond me. It seems the good governor says he can’t afford alimony. He has a variety of reasons including:
Now an Episcopal seminary student, McGreevey, 50, said he owes a prior divorce lawyer at least $116,000 and has not paid his first ex-wife any child support this year. He said he relies on his boyfriend to pay legal bills and lifestyle expenses. ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24631804/)
I am not going to weigh in on the subject of his alimony battles. Frankly I have too many conflicting and unresolved issues of my own on that but – he
has not paid his first ex-wife any child support this year. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT? He’s not taking care of his kid? Why doesn’t he get his boyfriend to pay child support first and then worry about the damn lifestyle expenses. Or forget the $116,000 lawyer and pay child support.
Or come Father’s Day I suggest he get a card that reads sperm donor instead of Dad.
McGreevy is studying to be an Episcopal priest.
As an ardent Anglican I will say this-if my church ordains a dead beat dad I may have to reconsider everything I hold dear about it.
